I have been working with a glass artist who produces "Dichroic Glass" for use in my jewellery. It is a beautiful material with iridescent qualities similar to Moonstone, Labradorite and even Opal yet it is tricky to make and it is taking us some time learning how to control it and to produce the colours and shapes that I want.
I have been making jewellery from Silver with Brass and Copper again, sometimes using Porcelain beads which I have made myself. I used to do this many years ago and I have often been asked to make these mainly Silver pieces again. They have been very popular and I will be making more of them in the New Year.
My daughter, Meriel, has been helping me in the workshop recently. She is a primary school teacher doing supply work and she is able to spend the days when she is not teaching with me. Meriel is remarkably talented and great company...we get so much done on those days!
I am hoping to show at the Contemporary Craft Fair in Bovey Tracey (South Devon) in 2018. Nothing is confirmed yet and I will post on Facebook and on my "Coming Events" page as soon as it is. Before events such as this, I send out an email invitation. Of course, many people who receive this will not be able to attend, but I hope that you will still click on the link in the email that directs you to my "Webshop" as I update this with all of my latest work to coincide with the email. I can post anything to you and, so long as I get it back before the beginning of the fair, you can return it for a full refund if you find it does not suit you.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
